To Jack multi functionality was an absolute requirement for successful
This is why I feel I must include it here, among his attitudes.
Jack felt that whenever a decision was made about engaging in a particular activity or project, it should serve at least a number of different purposes. Preferably there should be many benefits to other area's.
So if the main purpose of the project could not be realized, the fringe benefits would in themselves be sufficient compensation for the energy spend.
For example if a boy wanted to be a professional soccer player the fringe benefits would be that in the process he would train his body and mind, make friends and be in a healthy environment during most of his training.
